Jim Morningstar, PH. D.

Jim is the founder and director of Transformations Incorporated, which sponsors the School of Spiritual Psychology, a three-year program in personal and professional transformation, the Creative Consulting and Counseling Services, a State licensed psychotherapy clinic based on holistic principles, and the Transformations Breathwork Training Program, which trains and certifies professionals in breathwork. He has held licensure as a clinical psychologist since 1973, is a clinical supervisor, seminar leader and has pioneered in the integration of psychotherapy with such psychophysical techniques as breathwork and bioenergetics.

After graduating from Honors Programs in high school and college in the US and France, Jim Morningstar completed his doctorate from Fordham University in 1972, receiving a traineeship and internship through the National Institute of Mental Health.  He has been a staff psychologist and administrator of a community mental health center. He has also mentored students as an assistant clinical professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin, as an assistant professor in Human Development/Education at St. Mary's College and as an adjunct clinical professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.

After travel in Africa in the 1970's, he began a deep search for his own spiritual path, doing extensive personal growth work in Gestalt, bioenergetics and Tai Chi, living in spiritual community, engaging in and leading Enlightenment Intensives. He also continues ongoing research in levels of consciousness. He is past US National Coordinator and vice-president of the International Breathwork Foundation and currently coordinates the International Breathwork Training Alliance.  He has been a member of the American Psychological Association since 1975 and on the National Register for Health Care Providers in Psychology since 1992. He has authored three books and one audio tape in the field of Spiritual Psychology. His books have been translated into other languages and he presents workshops and seminars in the US and abroad.

 

George Catlin, Ph.D.

George is an Associate Professor of Psychology (on leave) at Carthage College where he teaches courses on the psychology of well being as well as on individual differences and social influences on behavior.  He also conducts research on the nature and effects of love. He received his masters and doctorate degrees from the University of Massachusetts. George lived at the Findhorn community in Scotland for four years and was later a founding director of the School for Spiritual Science in Shutesbury, Massachusetts.

 

Cathy Gawlik, M.S.

Cathy is a psychotherapist, breathworker, group leader and trainer with over thirty years experience as an educator. She has a Masters in Educational Psychology. She has been on the staff of the School of Spiritual Psychology since 1989 and helped initiate their distance education programs.  Her work focuses on helping reclaim full life energy, potential, and creativity; and integrating body, mind, heart, and spirit. She combines breathwork and creative expression — writing, artwork, and imagery.  Her seminar work was well received in Spain at the Global Inspiration Conference, and in the United Arab Emirates where she presented her highly respected women's weekend.

 

Janice Potter, MS

Janice graduated cum laude in English from Cornell University, received a master's degree in learning disabilities from Cardinal Stritch University, and has 25 years of teaching experience. An avid spiritual seeker, Janice has a master's certificate in spiritual psychology, is an ordained Minister of Healing, and is a certified breathworker.

 

Donna Thome, M.S.W.

Donna has over twenty-five years of experience as a psychotherapist and seminar leader and was a professor of social work for thirteen years. Her professional background includes extensive work with Jean Houston, exploration of several spiritual frameworks, training in Gestalt therapy, and eleven years of training in and teaching Neuro-Linguistic Programming. She is also a certified professional teacher of the Enneagram. Donna is very effective in working with self worth and identity issues and relationship work.
